Sage (Salvia officinalis L., Lamiaceae family) is a small evergreen shrub that is characteristic of Southern Europe; in Italy it grows wild in central-Southern areas and on the islands. The name of this plant bears witness to the virtues assigned to it by the ancient Romans: the word sage in fact shares the root of the verb “to save” and the word “salus” (salvation or health). Sage extract and the essential oil obtained from the leaves are used in cosmetics for their antiseptic, healing and astringent properties, characteristics that are very useful in treating excess sweating. The variety referred to as Salvia Sclarea is a plant that shows good toningstimulating and bactericide properties. It is used in oral hygiene products, in deodorising products against excessive sweating and for skin mycosis, alopecia and poor hair growth, as it improves the condition of the scalp.
Lactis proteinum
Milk protein has been used for years due to its particular affinity with skin protein, in order to develop moisturising, restorative cosmetics. This protein acts by supporting and maintaining cell vitality in the skin cells, activating the cell metabolism and collagen synthesis. The cell regenerative effect will therefore result in increased skin elasticity and epidermal thickness. Skin will be more toned and moisturised, more elastic and vital.
